A hundred souls village in the Verzasca Valley, surrounded by mountains amidst pure nature. For some weeks, isolated from the outside world, it seems. In a traditional stone house near the river, amidst the secluded beautiful mysticism. Enchanted by this valley, I read the ancient myths and sagas of the region and feel the aura. They exemplarily address the discussion with nature, whereby the nature of the human being is also meant. Behind them are representations of faith, which are expressed symbolically. In search of the experience of a divine or absolute reality, I discover and explore my homeland new and wash myself – according to the life philosophy of Monte Verità – free from my daily life in the bustling metropolis and devise my own legend.
Un villaggio di cento anime in Valle Verzasca, circondato da montagne e immerso nella natura incontaminata. Per alcune settimane, isolata dal mondo esterno, almeno all’apparenza. In una tradizionale casa di pietra vicino al fiume, immersa in un solitario e bellissimo misticismo. Incantata da questa valle, leggo gli antichi miti e leggende locali e ne sento l’aura. Essi tematizzano in modo esemplare il confronto con la natura, intesa anche come natura umana. A un livello più profondo vi sono concetti di fede espressi per mezzo di simboli. Alla ricerca dell’esperienza di una realtà divina o assoluta, riscopro e riesploro la mia madrepatria e mi purifico (ispirata alla filosofia di vita del Monte Verità) dalla vita quotidiana nella pulsante metropoli e tesso la mia
propria leggenda.

Jessica Wolfelsperger
Jessica Wolfelsperger ( Basel) studied photography at BTK University of Art & Design in Berlin. During and after her studies, she has assisted various photographers and artists in Berlin, New York and Copenhagen. Beside that, she attended courses at the Ostkreuzschule für Fotografie and completed a certificate as a curator at the University of the Arts (UDK) in Berlin. In 2015, she won the first prize of the vfg for emerging talent as young photographer Switzerland and in 2017 the Swiss Photo Award in the category Fine Art.
Nata a Basilea, Jessica Wolfelsperger ha studiato fotografia alla Technische Kunsthochschule di Berlino. Durante e dopo gli studi ha lavorato come assistente per vari fotografi e artisti a Berlino, New York e Copenaghen. Parallelamente, ha assistito a seminari alla Ostkreuzschule für Fotografie e assolto un corso di curatrice all’Universität der Künste (UDK) di Berlino. Nel 2015 ha vinto il primo premio per giovani talenti svizzeri VFG e nel 2017 lo Swiss Photo Award nella categoria Fine Art.
